The Women’s Hockey Club of Toronto (WHCT) is a recreational, non-slapshot women’s ice hockey league for people age 18 and over who identify as female, trans, nonbinary or two-spirited and who are LGBTQ2S or allies who can uphold an inclusive environment. All players are welcome regardless of skill level — beginners just learning to play hockey, mid-range players and experienced players. We have 12 teams, with each team comprised of 15 players, including the goalie. Each team is comprised of a mix of players from all levels with every attempt made to balance the teams.
When & Where We Play
The 2024-2025 season will start in September (with the date of the first game yet to be determined), and run until the end of April. Each team will play approximately 18 regular season games and at least 3 playoff games. Games are played on Saturday nights with the first game starting at 5:00 p.m. and the last game starting at 10:00 p.m. Each game is 50 minutes in length. All games are played at Moss Park Arena, located at the corner of Queen St. East and Sherbourne St. in downtown Toronto.
Please note: To qualify for the playoffs you must miss no more than 9 regular season games. It is your responsibility to sign the game sheet to ensure that your attendance at each game is counted.
If you experience any symptoms of Covid-19/Flu, please do not attend games. As long as you tell your Team Rep before noon on Saturday, you will not be marked absent, and it will not count toward the 10 games mentioned above.
